Abstract | 本文係針對中國沙門堅守淫戒的實例,給予一種學理上 的探討,這與中國有所謂「萬惡淫為首」的觀念暗合,故從 義淨三藏所撰「南海寄歸內法傳」開始,一一列舉事實,加 以解說. 其中並以「四分律比丘戒本」與「十誦比丘波羅提 木叉」二書,相互排比對照,詳細解釋佛家對男女之防極為 嚴謹的戒規,值得當前男女雜居,號稱大乘佛法的佛行者的 警愓,唯有戒行清淨,才能定慧圓明,故歷代律學沙門所具 有的高尚人格與情操,值得我們末代釋子的褒揚與效法.
This paper offers a critical review on some of the historic examples of Chinese monks' strict observance of the precept against carnality. Such observance was closely related to the Chinese concept that,of all evils, carnality is the foremost. Examples from Master I-ching's Nan-hai chi-kuei nei-fa chuan (南海寄歸內法傳) are listed and explained,and the Bhiksus' Precepts of the Four-division Vinaya (四分律比丘戒本) and the Ten Verses of `Bhiksus Pratimoksa` (十誦比丘波羅提木叉 ) are meticulously compared,so that the reader may gain a clear idea of the rigid rules in Buddhism guarding the contact between males and females. This serves as an admonition to those men and women who live in the same monastery and proclaim themselves practitioners of `Mahayana`. Only with pure moral discipline can `samadhi` and transcendent wisdom be cultivated to perfection. The exalted personalities of the past monks who followed the Vinaya are worthy of our praise and emulation. |
