Abstract | "Dharmakaya" is a key notion that provides a clue to the understanding of the buddhist absolute. this paper traces the background of this notion in "pali" texts and "mahayana sutras",and "ratnagotravibhaga",which expounds the ultimate meaning of the "mahayana". here "dharmakaya" is explained as a universal body encompassing all living beings as their ground, and as buddha in the state of perfection as their goal. |
