Abstract | Analysing the doctrine of Prajnaparamita(sher-p'hin pronounced as Sher-chin) or Transcendental Wisdom is based on
Tibetan exegetical literature viz. Ahisamyalamkara of updesa-sastra which is considered by the learned Tibetan tradition to
be the most important as, a) a summary of the Prajnaparamita-sutras and 2) as the text containing the special theory of the
marga or the Path to attainment of Nirvana according to the Mahayanaistic standpoint. Obermiller has taken recourse to those Indian and Tibetan Commentaries which held in great esteem by the learned Tibetan
tradition and consiedered to contain the most clear, thorough and full analysis of the subjects contained in the
Abhisamayalamkara. |
