Abstract姚廣孝曾佐明成祖靖難有功,官拜僧錄司左善世,資善大夫及太子少師,於政治上,權頃一時,名動京師,而在佛學研究上,姚廣孝著有《道餘錄》,<佛法不可滅論>,《淨土簡要錄》和《諸上善人詠》等書。其中《道餘錄》及 <佛法不可滅論> 論及佛釋道三家,為當時佛教之護教書,並且是研究明代儒釋關係不可或缺的材料;而《淨土簡要錄》和《諸上善人詠》是談論念佛,求生西方等淨土有關之思想,此些著作更是開發後世禪淨合一的先河。故姚廣孝實為明初之重要僧侶,對當時佛教界必有其深遠的影響但因其佐靖難之役,及《道餘錄》毀謗先儒(二程及朱熹)為非,終為士大夫們所輕,所以留下來的野史筆記,甚至正史 --《明史》中其傳記,也只姚廣孝為貪圖權力富貴,不忠不義之人,如此盡書其負面的評價,不僅有違歷史的真實性,(留存史料中亦有描述廣孝為一個不貪富貴權勢之高僧)就是對姚廣孝而言,亦甚為不公,況且其在政治上,有其成就外,在佛學研究上,他的《淨土簡要錄》更是開創明代禪淨合流之先鋒,故後人在評價姚廣孝時,應當再深思之。
