Abstract | Buddhism in Thailand is in a state of crisis and needs to adapt to a complex modern society. Many Buddhist monks have strayed from the teachings of Buddha, which has a core value that states monks must not have anything to do with either sex or money. This situation could be remedied by reforming curricula offered by universities for monks that currently emphasize intellectual knowledge instead of spiritual growth. Sekhiyadhamma is a group that is attempting to improve the situation by applying Buddhist principle to the modern world. |
