In this second year project, I focused on the foundation's global networking in, especially, the Chinese global community. In addition to gathering information from here in Taiwan, I also traveled for research on the foundation's activities to ma inland China. My final report on the project is divided into two parts; one part is on localization and is keyed to my first year's findings and the other part is on globalization and is keyed to both my second year's findings and upon reflection upon how the localization I emphasized in my first year's research is bound up with the globalization processes I explored in my second year's research. That is to say, I find that the foundation is moving out of its base in local communities across Taiwan to create a global network. This network has close links to the wider emergent global Chinese community network. This global move by the foundation takes the form of its commitment to the four panhuman missions of charity, health care, education, and culture.
