Abstract在中國佛教諸大宗中,若論其教理,觀行兩皆整備,具足周詳體系之宏模,無疑地天台宗將是其代表性之著者. 吾人欲系統性地掌握整體佛法之教行,天台教義亦誠為極佳入路之一. 而智者大師智顗 (538-597) 實乃天台立宗之師,全體教觀思想體系之奠立者.

然則,智顗之學說體系在其各主著作中雖見端倪,猶乏全面之統整. 本文之作即欲依智顗《妙法蓮華經玄義》,《摩訶止觀》,《維摩經玄疏》等重要著作所提,進一步將之整合,以呈顯出智顗晚期思想圓熟之下所建立的全體教觀思想之完整架構. 此中,論及了「五時八教」說,分約「教部」與「教相」而論化儀四教五時,化法四教十六門,觀門化儀之三種止觀,觀門化法之四教十六門與三觀等,進而建構起智顗教觀思想之體系. 此外,亦論及權實與本跡義,及約《法華經》而言教判之三種教相論,亦不外乎在彰明前述之體系與權實為用之義.
