The thought of the Pure Land is an important part of Chinese Buddhism. All the schools of Chinese Buddhism, especially the Pure Land School and Chan Buddhism bear different views on the Pure Land. The Pure Land School believes the rebirth in the Pure Land of the Buddha Amitabha can only be attained by reciting the Buddha Amitabba's name according to the Mo-Fa thought. On the contrary, Chan Buddhism believes the Pure Land of the Buddha Amitabha does not exist in the physical world but in man's mind. The difference between the interpretation of the Pure Land represents their different understanding of Buddhism and reflects their respective.
