| Abstract | 元朝帝師制度並非如流行的說法源自西夏，而是儒家「王者必有師」治國思想和相關職官制度的繼承。據漢文典籍記載，早在春秋戰國時期這種思想和職官制度，就已經出現。至遲在西漢時期，「帝師」作為帝王之師的專門用語就已在當時的政治生活中廣為應用，並明確記載於歷史典籍。之後，直到元朝建立之前，史書屢見不鮮。
