| Abstract | 西方佛學專家安東尼‧托拉巴(AnthonyTribe)的力作“文殊：來歷、角色與意義”一文刊登在2004年《西方佛學評論》第一期和第二期，全文共分三大部分，文章只選譯其中的部分內容，旨在通過瞭解五臺山佛教文化研究的域外動態，為五臺山文化研究提供有價值的學術資源。
The essay “Manjusri: Origins, Role and Significance” written by American scholar Anthony Tribe was published
on Western Buddhist Review Volume 2 and 3, it is divided into three parts. It provides the evidence of the cult of
Manjusri at Wutaishan. In order to supply valuable academic resources for the research on Wutaishan culture, I try to
translate some material about Wutaishan abroad. Here I just select very small part of the essay because of the limited
space.
