Abstract古印度寺院教育的興起佛教的寺院教育制度興起於古印度。大約在佛陀圓寂500年後,隨著寺院和石窟寺的不斷修建開鑿,寺院逐漸成為僧人生活和學修的主要場所。經過原始佛教、部派佛教和大乘佛教徒們的不斷努力,逐步形成了系統獨特的寺院教育體系。寺院的教學內容基本上是佛教經律論三藏。寺院的教學方式,為講經、誦經、辯經、著述和禪觀實修的有機結合。不過不同的寺院在學修方面各有側重———有的偏重義理學習,有的偏重具體修証,有的則力圖學修並重、均衡發展。學僧們除集體和個別聽受三藏經典外,獲取和驗証所學佛法的重要方式之一,就是立宗論辯。
