Abstract藏傳佛教各教派中歷史最久遠的一派是寧瑪派。寧瑪有兩個意思,一是古,二是舊。所謂古,是說這個教派認為他們的一套教法,是從西元8世紀的時候由蓮花生傳下來的,而西藏佛教其他的教派是在11世紀中葉以後新創立的,所以寧瑪派的歷史淵源要比其他教派早三百年。所謂舊,在顯宗方面不分新舊,只是在密宗方面,一般都以仁欽桑布為界,在他之前翻譯過來的密宗經典算是舊派,他以後的算是新派。
