組佛寺建築———餘慶禪院的歷史與司馬光墓、碑、祠的興廢密切相關。更重要的是禪院現存的大殿還保存著古樸的結構和風貌 ,可能是晉西
南地區繼芮城五龍廟唐代大殿以後時代最早的建築。這對以金元建築為主的晉西南地區的古建築群而言意義重大。
