In song dynasty, Buddhism has become an important forming section in Chinese thought and culture. There is a deep cognizance and comprehension about Buddhist general knowledge and its doctrines for Confucian scholars in Song dynasty. However, there also exists a lot of misreading in large area. On the one hand, the Confucianists in Song dynasty critized of Buddhism and discriminated against Buddhism subjectively, on the other hand, they formed a "critizing Buddhism" objectively. For us, the understanding, comprehension and appraisal of Buddhism from Confucian scholars in Song dynasty, not only contribute to clarifying the relation between the neo-Confucianism and Buddhism, but also contribute to grasping the demarcation of the academic in Song dynasty, and it is also conductive to understand the problem of indigentiation of Buddhism in china deeply.
