| Abstract | 觀音是中國人最愛戴的「神」。中國人從四世紀間開始崇拜觀音，到了九世紀，祂成為藝術家最喜歡的題材。觀音通常被描繪成一位風度翩翩的王子，或有多頭多臂，後來則變成一位女神。從十世紀開始，杭州和普陀島成為兩個主要進香道場，杭州的上天竺寺是拜觀音的地方性道場，普陀島則是全中國和國際性的進香道場。 |
