Abstract | The article presents an essay concerning the scriptural authenticity of the ŚSrāvaka Schools in India. It offers a criteria in knowing the originality of the translation which includes the mahapadesa or "great authorities", the Pali scriptures and the language of the source. The author states that the argument on authenticity is not simple because a single text will yield to multiple meanings and the decision on authority is never final. |
