| Abstract | 聖嚴法師是深具宏觀視野與開創性的當代思想家和宗教家，著重以現代語言和觀點普傳佛法，提倡建立全球性倫理，為當代佛教創新思路、革新發展。聖嚴教育基金會於二○一二年舉辦第四屆聖嚴思想研討會，主題定為「聖嚴法師與當代漢傳佛教的回顧與前瞻」，共發表六十二篇論文，是歷來論文發表最豐富的一次。
本書精選研討會十二篇論文，探討議題包括：旅行書寫、複合性災害區域急難救助公共空間的規畫、中華禪的傳承和轉化、創建法鼓山的時代意義、環境哲學思想、華嚴思想等，析論聖嚴法師將禪法義理活用在各領域空間的貢獻與內涵精神。
聖嚴法師佛學造詣深厚、學養淵博，更以其稟承的臨濟及曹洞兩系法脈為基礎，至世界各地指導禪修，弘揚禪學、推廣佛法不遺餘力，藉以提昇人的品質及社會風氣，讓我們得以從超越時間、空間的多元向度，落實心靈環保在人間的理念。 |
