Abstract 熟諳東亞宗教的美籍華裔宗教學家楊慶壟認為:"從一個寬泛的視角看,宗教會被看成一個連續統一體,從類似於終極性、有強烈情感特質的無神論信仰,到有終極價值、完全由超自然實體所象徵和崇拜並有組織模式來支撐的有神信仰。"的確,在佛教範圍內的各種信仰,都可跨越這從無神到有至上神的兩極。用佛教術語來說,就是從純粹自力到純粹他力救度的兩極。其中,中國化佛教的典範——禪宗主張以自力解脫,把西方凈土稱為唯心凈土,把阿彌陀佛稱為自性彌陀。而日本凈土真宗則主張純他力救……
