| Abstract | 老撾，全稱老撾人民民主共和國。其領土北接中國雲南，西接緬甸、泰國，南接柬埔寨，東接越南，是中南半島唯一的內陸國家。老撾佛教可以追溯到公元一世紀初，但因缺乏史料記載，故無法詳細得知當時的傳播情況。直到公元十四世紀，在國王法昂（Fa Ngum，1316—1393）統治時期，上座部佛教開始從柬埔寨傳人，後被奉為國教。從此以後，上座部佛教就在老撾廣泛傳播，大量修建寺塔佛像，並設立巴利文佛教學院培養高級佛教僧才，還編訂出版了老撾語巴利三藏。 |
