Comparing the imaginations of the nether worlds in native Chinese culture, Indian culture and the Western Region culture, this paper points out that the nether world stories related by people from the Western Region exerts important influences on the formation and development of native Chinese nether world stories. The nether world stories related by people from the Western Region, in their original concept, exotic plot effects and deep-going ideas, replaced the native Chinese nether world stories and became one important paradigm in traditional Chinese novels.
