Abstract | 敦煌莫高窟第285窟等繪以山林動物和禪僧等,這些畫面相對整銷畫面而言,皆可視為有一定的獨立性。據北涼曇無讖譯《大集經》卷23《虛空目分·凈目品》,筆者認為這類壁畫中的山林等表示器世間(界);動物表示十二時獸修持聲聞慈和更次巡游閻浮提行教化“勸修善事,令離惡業”;禪廬及其內的禪僧表示被教化和在進行修行。十二辰獸和十二生肖是我國文化固有的內容,繪畫山林動物是我國古代美術由來已久的傳統題材,在南北朝時期佛道儒融匯的過程中,佛教美術借用中國繪畫題材甚至表現形式來表現佛教義理十二時獸更次教化。
In murals of the Mogao Cave 285, the wooded mountains, animals and meditating monks can be seen as the relative independent scenes in the whoe paintings. According to Mahasamnipta stra,the author of this paper thinks that the wooded mountains, animals and meditating monks in Buddhist cottage reprsent the Trishasra-mah-sahasra-loka-dhtu, animals of the 12 two-hour periods practising srvaka and visiting Jambu-dvpa to do philanthrpic act and depart from evil, and Bud-dhist who have received sermon or are doing practice respectibely. The animals of the 12 two -hour periods and Twelve Symbolical are an inherent contents of Chinese cultrue. That an-imal and mauntain forest were taken as traditional subject matter in ancient Chinese pamtings is of long standing. In the process of a mixture of Buddhsm,Taoism and Confucianism of the Southem and Northern Dynasties, the subject matter and even form of Chinese paintings were used by Buddhist art to Buddhist doctrine: alternate teachings of the animals of the 12 two-hour periods. |
