| Abstract | 隋代第280窟建于隋代晚期,本文對該窟比丘誦經圖、菩薩乘象圖、涅槃圖進行了考察,提出比丘誦經圖可能表示《法華經》中的妙光法師說法,菩薩乘象圖則表示普賢菩薩守護《法華經》信仰者,而涅槃圖則表示《法華經》為佛臨涅槃時所說。這些壁畫題材是研究法華信仰的重要資料。
Mogao Cave 280 was built in the late Sui dynasty. An examination of the images of a bodhisattva riding an elephant, a bhiksu chanting scriptures, and a nirvana depiction scene in cave 280 suggests that the bodhisattva in the first picture represents Samantabhadra Bodhisattva as the protector of people who believe in the Lotus Sutra, the bhikkhu represents Buddhist master Varaprabha preaching the Lotus Sutra, and the nirvana image indicates that the Lotus Sutra was preached by Buddha just before attaining nirvana. These mural themes are very important for studying Buddhist belief in the Lotus sutra. |
