Abstract在中國佛教文化史上,淨土文化擁有最為廣泛的民眾信仰基礎,其念佛法門成為各宗各派共修之基業,影響至為久遠。
它廣攝群機,利鈍全收,下手易而成就高、用力少而收效宏。淨土法門成為中國佛教最為重要的門派之一,其思想及修持長期影響著中國佛教的走勢。
究其星火燎原之因由,當首推開持名念佛百代之風氣、樹淨土萬世不拔之基的曇鸞大師。正是曇鸞繼承、吸收印度大乘佛學的彌陀淨土信仰,結合中土民生實際,建立起自己獨特的淨土學說。中國的彌陀信仰發展史,是由觀想念佛為主進而持名念佛為主,持名念佛又以口念為主。
在這個發展過程中,正是曇鸞邁出了決定性的一步,他轉向持名念佛,並明確提倡口念之法,這大大擴張了淨土信仰的可接受性和普及性,為淨土信仰在中土的傳播開闢了一方新天地。
淨土法門,廣攝群機,利鈍全收,下手易而成就高,用力少而收效宏。其修行理念,為專念彌陀聖號六字洪名。
持此洪名,以果地覺,修因地心,秉萬行之功德,具不可思議之妙用。其法門統攝律教禪宗,普被上中下根。似地均擎,如天普蓋。從宗門演進說,由實相念佛至觀像、觀想再到宣導持名,代不乏人。
然呼籲最早,影響尤遠,開持名念佛百代之風氣,樹淨土萬世不拔之基者,唯曇鸞大師一人也。
