| Abstract | 從東晉以來，人民長期處於戰亂頻繁的環境當中，生活困頓，為尋求一個心靈的安定，百姓們選擇依靠宗教的力量而有所慰藉。其中三階教創立於隋朝，並在唐朝時期達到鼎盛。創立者信行禪師提出「無盡藏行」的概念，這樣的一個概念使得這輩子貧困的人可以藉由供養施捨而寄託來世有所改善，輪迴的想法讓人民有所寄託，因此廣被大眾接受。寺廟因為有了信眾的捐款而有了源源不絕的財務來源，經由推廣「無盡藏行」，寺廟中累積許多的財物，這些財物主要是用於三個方面：
(一)、供養天下伽藍增修之備
(二)、施天下饑餒悲田之苦
(三)、充供養無礙 (齋僧)
可惜因為政治等因素，三階教僅活動了三百餘年，最終走上滅教一途。但必須注意的是，三階教的擁護群極為廣大，下至販夫走卒上至達官貴人，無人不受其影響。雖然三階教不復再現，但其「無盡藏行」的思想，卻深深影響了後世，也成為中國在宗教表現上十分特別的一項經濟活動。
From Eastern Jin Dynasty, people had lived in a difficult life. Xin-xing, the founder of San-jie-jiao in Sui Dynasty, raised an issue on Wu-jin-zang. He tried to find a way to help the poor solve their poverty, and hoped to help people be able to have a better life in their next incarnation by carrying out Wu-jin-zang. The concept of Wu-jin-zang was soon successful and became popular at that time. The government and the people accepted it easily. Because of the donation from people, temples accumulated huge property. The monks used the property in three ways:
(1) To mend the temples.
(2) To donate the poor.
(3) To make offerings to the monks.
However, San-jie-jiao existed only for over three hundred years, and then it was disappeared. The main reason is that the emperors were afraid of its great influence and forbade its religious activities. Although San-jie-jiao was no more appeared, its concept of Wu-jin-zang still affected later generations and its special religious activities were still impressed. |
