| Abstract | 本文旨在介紹並評析有關禪宗及"東山法脈"研究的英文學術論著。首先概述近來禪宗研究的趨勢；然後，重點評述David Chappell、John Jorgensen與John McRae對於流行的所謂禪宗法脈及東山法脈疑問及研究，以及相關研究議題的異同之處；之後再以英語學界近來對中國佛教"lineage"(世系、師承、法脈、宗派)觀念的研究為背景，對於東山法脈的特色與歷史定位略作議論。 |
