Abstract "體義觀"是凈影慧遠的核心思想之一,貫穿於慧遠判教觀、心識觀、佛性觀、修行觀等各個方面的思想。慧遠將諸法區分"同體"與"別體"兩個層次,同體之法"離相離性"、"無有一性",別體之法有"體性"之差別,有性相之分。同體之法同時"無不性",此即慧遠"同體義分"觀念 — "無有一性"是"同體","無不性"是"義分"。在同體中,諸法的分別不是性相之分,而僅僅為"義"之差別。"同一體中,隨義分萬,舉一尋體、即是其體",體與義是六相圓融的關係。同時,同體之法與別體之法並非截然對立,通過"攝事相以從體義",慧遠將別體之法攝入同體之中,使別體之法也具備六相圓融的特性。此種思想,對於華嚴宗"理事無礙"、"事事無礙"等四法界觀念有重要啟發。敦煌S.4303、S.613在"同體義分"的基礎上,進一步演繹出"體義俱融",用以表述其宗最高的境界,強調"一體一切體,一義一切義",體義之間六相圓融、相互含攝。這是慧遠之後地論師體義觀的延續。
