Abstract 本文利用僧傳、古小說、墓志考察六朝轉經與梵唄的傳統。《高僧傳》分科乃從印度教團中的僧人分工發展而來,經師門的設置則是宋齊以來新興的現象,其取材來源是僧祐、寶唱的作品。東晉末年的志怪小說《荀氏靈鬼志》生動描述了長江中游武昌地區梵唄流行的情況,《惠云墓志》則揭示了梁武帝朝派遣四百沙彌學習蕭子良所創梵唄新聲的重大史實,填補了傳世文獻記載的空白。考明僧傳的史源和編排體例,才能體會其記載的侷限,進而可以最大限度地發掘新出資料的價值。
