Abstract按照佛教史的常識理解,玄奘是一位開宗立派的唯識宗祖師,他以《成唯識論》為中心,進行護法一系唯識學的弘傳。然而這種常識理解其實經過了人為的刻意“製造”。製造玄奘面孔的背後,是窺基一系創立法相唯識宗的歷程。首先,根據文獻與圖像資料的結合分析可以發現,玄奘在歷史中以求法僧與譯經僧兩重形象分離性的呈現。其次,譯經僧形象製造背後,慈恩寺僧團又有普光、法寶與窺基兩系的對立。普光、法寶在當時處在中心位置,他們以「唯識論師」指稱弘傳《成唯識論》的窺基一系,並予以批判。由此可以推測《成唯識論》並沒有被奉為玄奘師門內的權威文本。實際上,正是窺基通過建立《成唯識論》的傳法譜系,製造了玄奘與《成唯識論》的特殊關聯。在建立繼承性譜系的基礎上,完成自身建構唯識宗的用意。最後,唯識宗內形成了包含排他性教理教義和特殊性修行生活的特有知識界限。
