Abstract在方東美(1899-1977)有關文藝美學的討論及詩作當中,「玄」之一字及其相關詞彙,如「玄覽」、「玄思」等時常出現,作為「關鍵字」的「玄」之運用,既有中國傳統思想之借取,也有近現代思潮「科學」與「玄學」之爭底下,方氏對於「玄學」的形上意義思考。在方東美看來,中國的藝術家擅於馳騁玄思,在創作中宣暢氣韻生動的宇宙機趣,他們透過藝術品表達對宇宙之美的感受,呈現「廣大和諧」的整體特性及意境。方東美勾勒中國藝術的特性所呈現的「動態的、機體的」人生觀,不僅受之於年輕時所接受的柏格森(Henri Bergson,1859-1941)「生」之哲學的影響,也鎔鑄了中國儒釋道思想體系。方東美在中國哲學闡述及詩作上,與另一同為哲學家兼詩人的南懷瑾(1918-2012)相近,頗有可以合觀之處,本論文亦將就兩人相關詩作之理趣加以討論。
