| Abstract | 短期出家是緬甸的習俗，緬甸佛教徒最重視「沙彌出家典禮」。傳統上，它複合「非佛教」慶典與「佛教」修行而成為固定形式的成年禮。本研究以文獻與初步田野調查為研究材料，並以當代緬甸與臺灣的佛教團體為研究對象，藉此探討短期出家的形式、功能與意義，並顯示文化的變異性。
Temporary ordination is a custom in Myanmar, and Burmese Buddhists value most the ordination ceremonies for novice monks. Traditionally, this ceremony combines a non-Buddhist celebration with Buddhist practice to become a regularized form of a coming-of-age ritual. This research considers textual analysis and preliminary fieldwork, as well as Buddhist groups in contemporary Myanmar and Taiwan, in order to explore the form, function and meaning of Temporary ordination, along with the ways it manifests culture variability. |
