Abstract | The bsTan 'gyur (translated treatises) of the Tibetan Tripitaka contains a great number of Atisa's (982-1054) works. This paper describes his philosophy and practice as well as some problems related to his non-tantric works. Most of his non-tantric works are mainly in the dBu ma section, but the other half of his works are also found in the rgyud 'grel (tantric commentaries) section because Atisa was a Tantrist, which was typical for his time. |
