| Abstract | 본고는 한국 전통가사의 특징적 상징인 日月光紋과 天王紋貼이 중국문화적인 배경 속에서 완성되어 〈日月五嶽圖〉와 같은 관점을 견지한다는 점에 대해서 살펴본 것이다.
이를 위해서 필자는 먼저 한국전통가사의 특징에 관해서 정리했다. 이는 본고의 의미정립을 위한 기본적인 입각점이 된다.
그리고 이를 바탕으로 중국문화권의 聖人君主論에 대해 정리하였다. 성인군주론은 일원론적인 관점을 견지하는 중국문화권의 특수성 중 하나이다. 이를 통해서 우리는 성인과 군주의 관계 및 이들이 대등한 위계를 차지한다는 점에서, 양자가 동일한 상징을 차용할 수 있다는 개연성에 관해서 인지해 보게 된다.
다음으로는 한국 전통가사의 日月光紋·天王紋貼과 비교가치가 되는 〈日月五嶽圖〉의 상징과 내포의미에 관해서 정리하였다. 〈日月五嶽圖〉는 군주의 이 세계에 대한 지배와 권위를 상징하는 것이다. 이의 정리를 통해서 우리는 앞서 검토한 日月光紋·天王紋貼과의 상관관계를 성립시켜 볼 수가 있게 된다.
이러한 배경작업을 기반으로 해서, 비로소 한국 전통가사의 日月光紋·天王紋貼과 〈日月五嶽圖〉의 대비를 통한 타당성에 관해 접근해 본다. 특히 조선후기에 발생하는 불교 우주론 일월광에 대한 재정립과 天王紋貼의 완성은, 전체적인 관점에서 〈日月五嶽圖〉와 통일한 가치를 나타낸다는 점에서 주의가 요구된다. 이는 한국 전통가사의 日月光紋과 天王紋貼이 중국문화권에 기반한 불교적인 관점이라는 점을 분명히 해준다.
In this paper, it is held that the Sun-moon light pattern and Cheonwang (heavenly king) pattern patch, the characteristics of Korean traditional kaṣāya, were developed from a Chinese cultural background, maintaining the same viewpoint as 〈Ilwol-5 Akdo(Sun, Moon and 5 Mounts Picture)〉.
For this, the author first deals with the characteristics of Korean traditional kaṣāya, which becomes the basic standpoint for the establishment of significance in this paper.
Then, based on this stance, Seongin-gunju theory (holyman kingship theory) in Chinese cultural area is discussed. Seongin-gunju theory is an important characteristic of a Chinese cultural area that maintains the monistic viewpoint. In this respect, the relationship between the holy man and the king is considered again, as well as the possibility that both can borrow the same symbol in that they occupy the same hierarchy.
Next, this paper deals with the symbols and the implications in the Sun-moon light pattern/Cheonwang patch of Korean kaṣāya and its counterpart 〈Ilwol-5 Akdo〉. The painting 〈Ilwol-5 Akdo〉 symbolizes the ruling and authority of the king over this world. Through this examination, we can verify the correlation with above mentioned Sun-moon light pattern/ Cheonwang patch.
Upon completion of this background research, we can finally approach the validity of comparison between the Sun-moon light pattern/Cheonwang patch of Korean kaṣāya and〈 Ilwol-5 Akdo〉. Particularly, this approach needs to notice the reestablishment of the sun-moon light theory in Buddhist cosmology and the completion of the Cheonwang pattern patch which all occurred during the late Joseon Dynasty, for they are presenting the unified value with〈 Ilwol-5 Akdo〉 in an overall perspective. This shows clearly that Sun-moon light pattern and Cheonwang patch of Korean kaṣāya had Buddhist meanings based on Chinese culture.
