AbstractThe “Helping-parents” training course for children is a very important topic, but in Vietnam it remains new in the fi eld of human sciences, such as sociology, social work, and especially psychology. The area of parent-child relations is facing a lot of gratitude problems, limitations of gratitude cultivation and assessment tools. The research process initially used the discussion of theoretical issues such as gratitude problems, gratitude principle and ways of gratitude cultivation as well as perspectives on psychology. A survey of 93 participants aged from 14 to 26 and their parents through questionnaires assessing the training course has been made to collect the assessments of the trainees and their parents about the feeling of their fi lial duty. Initial results have shown the important areas in the perception of parent support and the suggestions for the development of fi lial piety of children via the Buddha’s teaching.
