| Abstract | 본고는 문헌 중심의 인도학, 불교학 연구와 관련한 주요 디지털 인문학 프로젝트들을 일람하고 그 가운데 산스크리트 문헌을 열람 및 검색 가능하게하는 SARIT프로젝트에 대해 자세히 알아보았다. 이를 통해 디지털화 된 텍스트를 만드는 작업은 일반적으로 수용되는 것처럼 기술적인 작업이 아니라 인문학자들에 의해 수행되어야 하는 인문학적 작업이라는 점에 대해 강조하였다. 이 후 디지털 환경이 문헌 중심의 연구와 관련된 학계의 문화에 미칠 영향에 대해 고찰해보았다.
This paper surveys major digital humanities projects mostly used in textual studies of Buddhism and analyzes the case of SARIT, Search And Retrieval of Indic Texts, in more detail. Stressing that a text encoding project using TEI is a scholarly work to be done by humanities scholars, it reflects on possible changes that digital text encoding projects would bring to the scholarly culture.
