| Abstract | 고려에서 불교와 도교가 습합된 형태로 유행했던 『공덕소경』 신앙은 三十 分과 三十八分의 두 가지 경에 의거하고 있다. 이 두 문헌 내에서는 이들 문헌들이 『二十六分功德疏經』에서 유래하고 있음을 밝히고 있다. 현재 한국에는 독립된 형태의 『이십육분공덕소경』이 발견되지 않은 상황인데, 2013년에 중국 국가도서관에 『佛說二十六分功德疏經』이라는 제명의 문헌이 있음을 확인하고 복사본을 입수하였다. 확인 결과 이 문헌은 명 宣德 8년(1433)에 간행된 목판본으로, 전반부가 결락된 잔간이다. 현재 5行 14字로 구성된 잔간 10張이 남아 있으며, 중국 내 구체적인 간행지는 확인되지 않는다. 이는 고려에 유행했던 두 종류의 『공덕소경』보다 간행 시기가 늦은 것이다.
중국에 소장된 경 가운데 특히 잔존하는 후반부 11分을 고려에 유통된 경의 내용과 비교해본 결과 동일한 부분도 있지만 상이한 점 역시 많이 확인되었다. 먼저 상이한 부분으로 세 가지 점을 들 수 있다. 첫째 하나의 分에 있어 ‘奉爲 대상’과 ‘불보살 명호’의 전후 순서가 서로 다르다. 둘째 불보살의 명호를 기준으로 두 나라 문헌에 나오는 分의 배열 순서를 비교해본 결과 서로 일치하지 않는다. 셋째 봉위 대상의 경우 내용상 큰 차이를 보인다. 동일한 점 역시 세 가지를 들 수 있다. 첫째 중국본의 11분에 나오는 불보살의 명호 가운데 2분을 제외한 9분의 명호가 일치한다. 둘째 봉위 대상 가운데 일치하는 부분도 적지 않다. 셋째 잔간에 남아 있는 11분의 불보살 명호 대부분이 고려에 유통된 두 가지 『공덕소경』의 26분 이전에 있는 점을 들 수 있다. 이로서 보면 중국에서 간행된 『佛說二十六分功德疏經』이 고려에 유통된 두 가지 『공덕소경』의 직접적인 母本이 되기는 어렵다고 판단되지만, 중국과 한국의 『공덕소경』 신앙을 비교 연구하는 데 있어서는 매우 중요한 자료라고 생각된다.
The faith of Gongdeshu-jing(功德疏經 the Sūtra of Merit Commentary) which was prevalent in a mixed reconciliation type of Buddhism and Taoism during the Koryo Dynasty is based on the two sūtras, SanshiliufenGongdeshu-jing(三十分功德疏經) and SanshibafenGongdeshu-jing (三十八分功德疏經). In those two literatures, the sūtras manifest that they were originated from ErshiliufenGongdeshu-jing(二十六分功德疏經). The independent type of ErshiliufenGongdeshu-jing has not been found yet in Korea, but I confirmed that there was a literature with the title FoshuoErshiliufenGongdeshu-jing(佛說二十六分功德疏經) at the China’s national library in 2013, and procured a copy of this data. As a result of confirmation, this sūtra was published as a block book in 1433, in Ming Dynasty, and the residue of lost early chapters. Now, only 10 pages with Cinquain and 14 letters(5行14字) exist, a publication has not been found. Its issued date was even later than the two kinds of Gongdeshu-jing prevalent in the Koryo Dynasty.
Among the sūtras published in China, I found out that there were same parts though, far differences were there, after comparing a content of the sutra prevalent in the Koryo Dynasty especially to the 11 compound words(分) of remaining late part. At first, there are three big differences.
First, in a compound word(分), it shows the different order of ‘objects of respect(奉爲)’ and ‘names of bodhisattva and Buddha’. Second, based on the names of bodhisattva and Buddha, they are in discord with each other, as a result of comparing the order arrangement of compound words (分) shown in the literatures from two countries. Third, there is a very distinctive difference of content in the case of ‘objects of respect’. The coincident point is that 9 compound names among the 11 compound left in the residue are in the early parts of 26 compound words on the two kinds of Gongdeshu-jing prevalent in the Koryo Dynasty. From this aspect, it’s very difficult to say that FoshuoErshiliufenGongdeshu-jing published in China was a direct model of the two kinds of Gongdeshu-jing prevalent in the Koryo Dynasty, but I think it’s a very important material to implement a comparative study on the faith of Gongdeshu-jing in Korea and China. |
