Abstract | In this paper an original Old Uyghur Buddhist text from the Turfan Collection of the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities is edited. The manuscript of this concertina booklet from Qočo / Gaochang contains a long passage of transfer merit and vow of Yetürmiš Hatun who probably was a noble lady of the time of the West Uyghur Kingdom around the 11th or 12th century. The text is partly written in a personal style culminating in transferring the puṇya to her living beings of the five gati and in personal striving to Buddhahood. |
