| Abstract | 根通長老1945年出家，2015辭世，度過漫長的佛門生涯；從1955年來山西，60年間從未離開這片熱土。他是新中國培養的佛門領袖，是山西佛教界的元老。他為佛教聖地五台山五頂文殊聖像的重鑄、為淨土祖庭玄中寺三祖師聖像的鑄造傾盡心力，為山西佛教的復興、為淨土祖庭的重光做出了巨大貢獻。
Elder Master Gentong became a monk in 1945, died in 2015 and spent a long Buddhist career. He had never left this hot land in 60 years since he arrived in Shanxi in 1955. He is a Buddhist leader trained in New China and a senior member of the Buddhist circle in Shanxi. He made great contributions to the re-casting of the five Manjusri statues on Mount Wutai, the Buddhist holy land, and to the casting of the holy image of the three patriarchs of the Pure Land Ancestral Court-Xuanzhongsi Temple, and to the revival of Shanxi Buddhism and the re-emphasis of the Pure Land Ancestral Court.
