| Abstract | 本文以《金剛經注》及日常詩文、雜記為主要資料，探索晚清學者俞樾的宗教認知與實踐。本文認為：俞樾對《金剛經》的整理與注解，純然以校理漢地本有文獻的經驗注釋佛典，並未意識到翻譯文獻特殊之處。另一方面，俞樾詩文所反映的日常宗教活動，顯示他對佛教教理的認識恐怕主要並非源於經典，而是來自民間流行的宗教習俗。俞樾的知識體系仍以儒家經典為根基，其用心仍以典籍訓解、校勘為主；誦經、茹素等近似佛教居士的生活樣態，則安頓了他晚年不安的心靈。不同於龔自珍、魏源等受學界關注且視之為推動近代「佛教復興」的晚清經學家，對俞樾而言，佛學並不是儒學之外另一股開啟學術新年境、治國安民的依憑，而是足以印證儒家學說，強化儒者信念的助力。俞樾展現的佛教認知與日常實踐，也應是考察晚清士大夫佛教的另一種風貌。
Yu Yue俞樾 (1821-1907), a famous Confucian scholar in late Chinese Empire, not only annotated Confucian classics, but also Buddhist scriptures. Yu Yue annotated the famous Buddhist scripture Vajracchedikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra (Diamond Sutra 金剛經) by annotating Confucian classics. He did not realize the particularity of the translated text. On the other hand, the daily religious activities reflected in Yu Yue's works show that his understanding of Buddhist teachings does not originate from the classics, but from popular religious practices. Yu Yue's knowledge system was based on Confucian classics, but that was not enough to solve the dilemmas of his life. Yu Yue is not a special case, many modern professional scholars may have the same situation. Different from the modern scholars who led the ＂ Buddhist revival ＂, Yu Yue's performance is another way of studying modern Buddhism that deserves attention. |
