| Abstract | The lack of public speaking skills of STAB Bodhi Dharma students is caused by lack of experience which causes low self-confidence, so the studyaims to determine the effect of confidence on public speaking skills of STAB Bodhi Dharma T.A. students. 2020/2021. This research was researched quantitatively in the form of a questionnaire of 50 research respondents distributed online to be processed, analyzed and presented. Based on the results of testing and analysis, it is known that the data has been normally distributed with the acquisition of a significance value of 0.063 which is greater than 0.05 in the normality test, has a linear relationship with the acquisition of a significance value of 0.089 which is greater than 0.05 and an f value of 0.457 which is higher. greater than the f table value of 1.96 in linearity testing, the regression equation Y = -28322 + 1.572X in the simple linear regression analysis test and the acceptance of the hypothesis in hypothesis testing with the acquisition of a significance value of 0.000 which is greater than 0.005 and a t value of 17.452 which greater than the t table value of 2.011. Thus, it can be said that this research hypothesis is acceptable and shows that there is an influence of confidence on the public speaking skills of STAB Bodhi Dharma Medan students for the academic year 2020-2021 with a nominal influence of 0.930 which is then converted into a percent value to 93%. This shows that the self-confidence variable affects the public speaking ability variable by 93%.
Kurangnya kemampuan public speakingmahasiswa STAB Bodhi Dharma disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengalaman yang menyebabkan rendahnya kepercayaan diri, sehingga penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepercayaan diri tehadap kemampuan public speaking mahasiswa STAB Bodhi Dharma T.A. 2020/2021. Penelitian ini diteliti secara kuantitatif berupa angket 50 reponden penelitian yang disebar secara daring untuk kemudian diolah, dianalisis dan disajikan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan analisis, diketahui bahwa data telah berdistribusi normal dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi 0,063 yang lebih besar daripada 0,05 dalam pengujian normalitas, memiliki hubungan linear dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi 0,089 yang lebih besar daripada 0,05 dan nilai f hitung 0,457 yang lebih besar daripada nilai f tabel 1,96 dalam pengujian linearitas, persamaan regresi Y = -28322 + 1,572X dalam pengujian analisis regresi linear sederhana dan diterimanya hipotesis dalam pengujian hipotesis dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang lebih besar daripada 0,005 dan nilai t hitung sebesar 17,452 yang lebih besar daripada nilai t tabel sebesar 2,011. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini dapat diterima dan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kepercayaan diri terhadap kemampuan public speaking mahasiswa STAB Bodhi Dharma Medan tahun akademik 2020-2021 dengan nominal pengaruh sebesar 0,930 yang kemudian dikonversikan ke dalam nilai persen menjadi 93%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel kepercayaan diri mempengaruhi variabel kemampuan public speaking sebesar 93%.
