| Abstract | 《法顯傳》是中國古代最為重要的求法僧游記之一,已被譯成多種外國語言文字,特別是英文。但中國學界對《法顯傳》的英譯情況了解不深,所述常有疏漏錯誤之處。基于此,著力向讀者展示19世紀問世的4種《法顯傳》(1848-1886年)英文譯本的具體情況,包括譯者、出版機構、出版時間、譯本特點等。
Fa Xian Zhuan, which is one of the most important Buddhist travel notes in early China, has been translated into quite a few foreign languages, especially English. However, Chinese scholars haven′t learned enough about the English translations of Fa Xian Zhuan. Accordingly, this paper intends to show readers the details of four 19th century English translations of Fa Xian Zhuan (1848-1886), including translators, publishing institutions, publishing time and translation styles. |
