Abstract | Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah Pembentukan pribadi berkarakter bagi anak-anak. Pribadi berkarakter merupakan hasil dari pendidikan secara umum yaitu kebiasaan baik, etika dan budaya yang diterapkan dalam keluarga yang diperoleh secara non formal yang terjadi dimasyarakat maupun pendidikan secara formal yang berlangsung di sekolah-sekolah dalam bentuk pelatihan-pelatihan,kerja bakti, kursus. Salah satu bentuk pendidikan non formal yang menunjang pendidikan keagamaan di Indonesia adalah Sekolah Minggu Buddha.Sekolah mingguBuddha dapat berperan dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didiknya. Pembentukan karakter ini dapat diterapkan dengan berbagai metoda. Salah satu yang dilakukan Sekolah Minggu Buddha Loka Shanti dengan melaksanakan Program Pelatihan melalui kegiatan kemah (camp).Pelatihan yangditujukan kepada peserta didik Sekolah Minggu Buddha Loka Shantidilakukan oleh Tim Pengambdian Kepada Masyarakat Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Bodhi Dharma dengan didampingi oleh guru Sekolah Minggu Buddha. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pelatihandimaksudkan agar peserta didik Sekolah Minggu Buddha dapat memiliki kepribadian yang berkarakter sesuai indikator diatasmelalui kegiatan kemah (camp) yaitu Loka Shanti Camp II.Berdasarkan hasil daripada pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut, diketahui bahwa karakterpeserta didik Sekolah Minggu Buddha Vihara Loka Shanti mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini terlihat dari kemandirian mereka saat di camp, disiplin dan komit dengansegala kegiatan yang dilaksanakan, menghargai hak orang lain, mematuhi aturan yang ditetapkan saat pelatihan.
The purpose of this service is the formation of personal character for children. Personal character is the result of education in general, named good habits, ethics and culture applied in the family which are obtained non-formally in the community and formal education that takes place in schools in the form of trainings, community service, courses. One of non-formal education that supports religious education in Indonesia is the Buddhist Sunday School. Buddhist Sunday schools can play a role in shaping the character of their students. The formation of this character can be applied by various methods. One of the activities carried out by Loka Shanti Buddhist Sunday School is by implementing a Training Program through camp activities. The training aimed at Loka Shanti Buddhist Sunday School students was carried out by the Community Service Team of the Bodhi Dharma Buddhist High School accompanied by a Buddhist Sunday School teacher. Community service through training is intended so that Buddhist Sunday School students can have personalities that are characterized by the above indicators through camp activities, namely Loka Shanti Camp II. Based on the results of the implementation of these activities, it is known that the character of the Buddhist Loka Shanti Sunday School students has increased. This can be seen from their independence at camp, discipline and commitment to all activities carried out, respecting the rights of others, obeying the rules set during the training. |
