| Abstract | 이 논문에서는 운허의 사상에 대해 3가지로 접근하였다. 2장에서는 운허의 수행과 불공에 관한 견해를 다루었고, 운허의 수행과 불공에 관한 견해에서 3장 불교계 개혁에 관한 견해와 4장 불보살의 가피력에 대한 견해가 이끌어져 나온다. 이미 말한 대로 2장에서는 운허의 수행과 불공에 관한 견해를 살펴보는데, 이는 다시 3단락으로 구분된다. 첫째, 수행에 방해가 되는 망상과 집착에 대해서 살펴보고, 둘째 운허의 수행관에 대해 알아보는데, 이는 원력(願力), 신심(信心), 경전공부가 서로 연결되어 있는 것이다. 원력을 세워서 경전공부를 하면 신심이 늘어나고, 이 신심이 늘어나면 신근(信根)이 생기고, 이 신근이 다시 신력(信力)으로 발전하며 이 신력에 의해서 부처가 되고 진정한 나를 깨닫는다는 것이다. 셋째, 불공(佛供)에 대한 현대적 해석이다. 불공에 대해 미신으로 파악하는 사람도 있지만, 운허는 불공을 사회적 봉사의 차원으로까지 확장하라고 권하고 있다. 3장에서는 불교계 개혁에 관한 견해를 살펴보는데 운허는 동업(同業)을 강조하고 이는 공동체를 위하는 정신으로 발전할 수 있는 이론적 근거가 된다. 이 공동체를 위하는 정신이 불교계로 향하게 되면 불교계 개혁으로 나타나게 된다. 운허는 1938년을 기점으로 당시의 불교계를 비판하고 있고 그 대안으로 청년학인이 가져야할 3가지 마음자세와 역량을 제시하고 있다. 4장에서는 불보살의 가피력에 대한 견해를 살펴본다. 앞의 2장에서 말한 수행론에서 원력과 신심과 경전공부의 상관관계를 말하였는데, 그 가운데 원력과 신심은 가피력과 관련이 있다. 운허는 신심이 깊어질수록 불보살의 가피력(힘)과 그만큼 많이 일치한다고 한다. 이런 관점에서 운허는 자신의 체험한 기도영험담 3가지를 불교계 잡지 『법륜』에 소개하고 있다.
In this paper, I will study three point of Unheo’s thought. In 2 chapter I study his view of practice and buddhist mass. 3 chapter and 4 chapter are derived from 2 chapter's contents. In 2 chapter, I study his view of practice and buddhist mass. This is divided three parts. First, I study the wild fancy and attachment to disturb the practice. Second, I study Unheo's view of practice which the power of desire(願力), the faith and the study of sutra are connected with each other. If people study sutra through the power of desire, their faith grow more. Then the foundation of faith(信根) and the power of faith(信力) come into being. Through the power of faith, people become buddha and enlighten the true self. Third, I study his modern interpretation of buddhist mass. People understand the buddhist mass as the superstition, but he urges to extend the buddhist mass to the social service. In 3 chapter, I study his view of the reformation of buddhist world. What he stresses same karma(同業), is theoretical basis to develop into the spirit of communal society. This spirit of communal society changes the reformation of buddhist world. He criticized the buddhist world of those days at 1938. He suggested three mental attitude and capacity which the young student must have as the alternative. In 4 chapter, I study his view of buddha and bodhisattva’s power of compassion(加被力). The power of desire and faith which I mentioned in 2 chapter, are connected with power of compassion. He says that the faith corresponds buddha and bodhisattva’s power of compassion considerably. So he writes his three prayer of miraculous virtue in Beopryun.
