Abstract常言道:「家家觀世音,戶戶彌陀佛。」觀世音菩薩(梵語:अवलोकितेश्वर,Avalokiteśvara)的慈悲是遍一切處,臺灣百姓的普遍信仰以觀世音菩薩和媽祖爲主;因此,佛教寺院之觀音到場、媽祖廟林立。本文以海明禪寺的觀音法門修持研究主體,運用「五股西雲禪寺」和「艋舺龍山寺」二座寶剎爲比較對象,對三者的寺院特色和觀音法門修持做比較;研究其異同,以彰顯海明禪寺悟明法師宏揚觀音法門之殊勝處。

經由比較研究得知,雖然三座寺院皆是主祀觀世音菩薩,修持觀音法門;而海明禪寺、西雲禪寺兩座寺院長久以來,皆有僧人住持,禮拜《大悲懺法》爲其定課,修持觀音法門爲其依歸。兩座道場之屬性是傳統道場,地點乃爲山中叢林;故而,有一定僧團制度之軌範和傳承,可謂上求佛道,下化衆生之菩薩道場。而財團法人艋舺龍山寺,目前由居士委員負責管理,殿堂內雖然仍主祀觀世音菩薩,秉持著觀世音菩薩的慈悲濟世精神,但已雜糅供奉著民間信仰之神明;由此可窺觀音道場不拘於山林或世塵,這份慈悲的信仰力量,乃是觀音菩薩無盡的悲心願力之展現,並有其普世價值。
