Abstract『요가주』의 주석자들은 『요가주』의 저자가 논적을 명시하지 않은 서술에서도 유가행파를 논적으로 의식하고 있다. 주석자들의 이러한 인식은 절멸론자라는 명칭을 사용하는 것으로 현저하게 드러난다. 찰나멸론자를 절멸론자로 지칭할 경우의 찰나멸론자는 유가행파의 유식설을 지목한 것으로 파악된다. 또한 절멸론자와 유식론자를 차별하는 경우도 있다. 이 경우에는 첫째, 유식론자와 절멸론자가 동일한 대상을 지칭한 개념일 수 있다. 둘째, 절멸론자는 유식설을 부정하는 유파, 특히 외계의 실재를 주장하는 견해를 지칭하기도 한다. 즉 설일체유부와 경량부도 절멸론자로 불릴 수 있다. 또한 인도 철학의 Vaiśeṣika는 절멸론자와 동격으로 취급된다. 그러나 주석자들 사이에서는 유식론자가 절멸론자로 지목되는 가장 현저한 대상으로 인식되어 있다. 왜냐하면 그들의 서술에서 절멸론자는 직접적으로든 간접적으로든 대체로 유가행파를 지칭하기 때문이다. 다만 절멸론자가 설일체유부와 경량부, 주석자에 따라서는 인도 철학의 Vaiśeṣika를 포함할 수도 있다는 사실을 간과해서는 안 된다.

The commentators of the Yogabhāṣya recognized that an antagonist is Yogācāravadin of Buddhism even in the cases when the author of the Yogabhāṣya did not directly indicate it. This recognition by commentators is evidently revealed in who is indicated when the term Vaināśika is used. In addition, commentators regarded Kṣaṇikavādin, called by the author of the Yogabhāṣya as Vaināśika. So, they understood that Kṣaṇikavādin is regarded as Yogācāra theory. On the other hand, there is a distinction between Vaināśika and Vijñānavādin. In this case, there are two different clues from critical comparison and contrast based on commentaries. First, there would be the possibility that both of Vijñānavāda and Vaināśika are one and the same camp. Second, Vaināśika would be from the different sect who rejects the philosophy of Yogācāra School and insists on externalism, advocating that the object of the external world is real and exists. In other words, Vaināśika could be said to be Sarvāstivādin (or Vaibhāṣika) or Sautrāntika in Buddhism. Moreover, Vaināśika could be identified as Vaiśeṣika in Indian philosophy. Nevertheless, it is clearly true that the primary opponent of these commentators is the Vijñānavādin and is indicated as Vaināśika. When Vaināśika is citied in the commentaries of Yoga Philosophy they are directly explicated who they are or who they allusively described. According to these two different methods, the multiple implications of the term Vaināśika can be generally directly or indirectly indicated to Yogācāra. However, it should be kept in mind the fact that Vaināśika is, in some cases, referred to as Sarvāstivādin and Sautrāntika or Vaiśeṣika of Indian philosophy.
