| Abstract | 굳이 유가행파의 학설을 따르지 않더라도 種子說을 주장하는 한 종자의 주처/토대로서 언제 어디서나 --멸진정 등의 무심정이나 無想天에서도-- 존재하는, 선·불선, 染·淨 등 어떠한 성격의 종자도 수납할 수 있는 無覆無記性의 동일種類(*ekajāti: 동일·보편성)의 마음을 인정하지 않으면 안 된다. 경량부의 祖師인 상좌 슈리라타(Sthavira Srīlāta)는 이를 ‘一心(ekacitta)’이라 하였다.: “一心은 種種界(nānādhātu)를 갖추고 있다. 一心 중에 다수의 界(bahudhātu)가 熏習되고 있다.”이는 유가행파의 알라야識에 상응하는 개념으로, 根·境과 作意 등 衆緣에 따라 일어나는 현행식과는 구별되는 異熟識이다. 곧 一心(ekacitta)은 동일·보편성(sāmānya)으로서의 마음이라는 뜻인 一類心(*ekajātīyacitta) 즉 ‘동일種類의 마음’의 준말로, 所緣과 行相을 갖지 않는 不了別(不可知)性의 미세한 識이다. 이에 따라 上座는 마음을 미세한 不了別性의 識(*avijñaptika-vijñānam)과 현행의 거친 了別識(*vijñaptika-vijñānam), 말하자면 내재적인 심층의 무의식과 외재적인 표층의식이라는 이중의 구조로 이해하였다. 그리고 이러한 두 층의 識을 별도의 실체로 간주한 유가행파와는 달리 一身二頭의 새인 命命鳥의 비유로써 동일한 소의(根)에 근거하여 동시에 함께 일어나는 동일한 識의 두 양태로 이해하였다. 이러한 上座의 ‘一心’ 개념과 동일根에 근거한 ‘二識俱轉’의 사유는 衆賢의『순정리론』에서 전해지고 있지만,『섭대승론』과 無性釋,『성유식론』과 동아시아 法相敎家의 주석류 등을 통해 보다 구체적으로 확인된다.
Not following Yogācāra's theory, as far as maintaining the theory of seeds(bīja), the generic or specific mind should be admitted as abode or foundation of seeds, which is completely neutral(akliṣṭ-avyākṛta) and always exists at anytime, anywhere, even in mind's absent conditions such as nirodhasamāpatti or asaṃjñā-deva. Sthavira Srīlāta who is Sautrāntika's great elder, called it 'the one-mind(ekacitta)'. He claimed.: "The one-mind contains a various dhātu. Tremendous dhātus pervade in the one-mind." ('dhātu'is an alternative name of bīja)'The one-mind(ekacitta)' is corresponding concept to Yogācāra's Ālayavijñāna, that is due to previous action of karma(so it is called 'vipākaphala-vijñāna') unlike current consciousness(pravṛttivijñāna) due to sense organ and object ect. That is to say 'the one-mind(一心, ekacitta)' is a short term of 'the one generic or specific mind(一類心, *ekajātīyacitta)', it is subtle and agnosic consciousness, that doesn't have an object and an images of it. So Sthavira understood mind as double layers, agnosic, subtle consciousness(不能了別識, *avijānāti-vijñāna) ie. ekacitta and current discriminative, coarse consciousness(了別識, *vijānāti-vijñāna) -- to be said as internal unconsciousness and external consciousness -- which corresponds to Yogācāra's Ālayavijñāna and pravṛttivijñāna. However unlike Yogācāra's understanding of mind as two separate entity, Sthavira understood mind as two layers (or phase) of the same consciousness, which are simultaneously arising based on the same sense organs(indriya) according to a metaphor of legendary bird jīvaṃjīvaka with two head on a same body. Sthavira Srīlāta's concept of 'the one-mind(ekacitta)' and simultaneous arise of two consciousness based on the same sense organs(indriya) are reported in Nyāyānusāraśāstra. by Saṃgabhadra, then also confirmed concretely in Mahāyānasaṃgraha and Asvabhāva's commentary, *Vijñaptimātratasiddhiśāstra and commentaries in the Eastern Asia etc.
