Abstract | A chronological structure for developments in Pāla art from the ninth through the eleventh century can be established by paying close attention to memorial stūpas, especially at Bodh Gayā, to their style, their selection from the eight principal events of the life of the Buddha, and their use of the crowned Buddha. |
