Abstract髻珠,亦稱頂珠,指國王發髻中的明珠,是佛教用語之一。佛教以“髻珠”比喻第一義諦、甚深法義;同時髻珠還與“成佛”有著千絲萬縷的關聯。作為佛教藝術的特征之一,髻珠有著連貫的發展軌跡:最早偶見于北朝,唐代開始大量出現,五代、兩宋一直到明清時期最為流行。時代越晚,髻珠越大。髻珠的形制不囿于圓形和橢圓形,亦有兩宋時期出現的扇形和明代出現的桃形。本文通過對比論證,指出髻珠與髡發具有完全獨立的兩種造型特征。此外作者還指出,髻珠這一中國獨創的藝術特征,對朝鮮與日本佛教美術也產生了影響。
