Abstract | This study analyzes the relationships between the different editions of the Kangyur and several manuscripts collections found in Western Tibet (Tabo, Gondhla, Phukthar [Puktar], and so forth) in order to determine the tradition(s) and transmission(s) of the canonical literature in this region. The study is not based on text critical analysis but on structural analysis represented in the form of correlation diagrams. At the end of the paper, a stemma showing the transmission of the canonical literature is proposed and the hypotheses leading to this stemma are discussed. |
