As Druker's saying management is more than a discipline, but a culture with its own value, beliefs, tools and language. The same goes for career management. In this article, the author tries to found a career management theory on the foundation of Buddhism philosophy sourcing from Sutra Spoken by the Sixth Patriarch, a classic of Chan Buddhism, and then discusses two career joints of self-management, like career goal and career development, with some consulting cases. The author holds that one can manage his career under the guiding of Buddhism philosophy. Furtherly speaking, in the first joint, the author puts forward the principle of goal setting based on the essence of just to be a Buddha. And in the second joint, the author explains career's beginning, perception and development according Huineng's experience in firewood splitting and rice pounding, his realization of Prajña and his salvation by self-enlightenment. The author believes career management can be a practical management model if we do self-management under the analysis above. |
