This paper explores the corresponding ideas between the humanistic pure land thought in the Maitreya faith and contemporary society from three perspectives. Firstly, it examines how the cultivation of the "threefold contemplation of loving kindness" and the vow of Maitreya to abstain from meat align with the concept of vegetarianism and carbon reduction. Maitreya's ultimate goal of seeking enlightenment through the pursuit of peace and happiness also corresponds to the universal pursuit of a happy and fulfilling life. Secondly, the paper analyzes how the Maitreya sutra illustrates highly civilized and efficient practices in areas such as agriculture, water conservation, urban planning, medical advancement, environmental hygiene, elderly care, social equality, and civic quality. Lastly, the paper discusses how Maitreya's teachings on the cultivation of awareness of karmic consequences promote the creation of a society that is abundant, joyful, and beautiful. The paper aims to provide Buddhist principles and practical support for the contemporary Buddhist vision of building a pure land on Earth.
